121st Birth Anniversary of Late Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Celebrated In Nagpur

121st birth anniversary of late Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, the architect of Indian constitution, was celebrated with enthusiasm and devotion by various organisations and government offices in the city on Saturday. Rallies and peace marches were taken out on this occasion at many places. experts on Ambedkarism enlightened the masses with their erudite talk that shed a new light on late Dr Ambedkar's ideology. Multitudes of Dr Ambedkar's followers thronged the holy Deekshabhoomi to pay their tributes to the savant-cum-social reformers. Many of the devotees clad in white robe took an oath to follow into the footsteps of Dr Ambedkar, Panchsheel flags were seen fluttering across many localities in the city. Dhamma vandana and inspirational songs were relayed through PAS. Common people, who could not go to Deekshabhoomi offered floral tributes to Dr Ambedkar's statues in their respective localities. Free community meals were organised in many localities and also at Deekshabhoomi.

Nagpur District Congress Committee: NDCC celebrated 121st anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar by organising various programmes. In the morning, the statue of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar was garlanded by AICC general secretary Vilas Muttemwar, NDCC chief Jaiprakash Gupta, MLA Dinanath Padole, leader of Opposition in NMC, Vikas Thakre, former NDCC chief Shaikh Hussain and Vishal Muttemwar.
Earlier, portrait of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar was also garlanded at Congress party office in Devadia Bhavan, Mahal. On this occasion, Congress workers rent the air with slogans, Jab Tak Suraj Chand Rahega, Baba Tera Naam Rahega.
Jaiprakash Gupta on this occasion told the gathering that Babasaheb Ambedkar always resented secondary treatment to women in the society. He was always in favour of empowerment of women, Jaiprakash Gupta further said. Rajiv Gandhi, Indira Gandhi and now Sonia Gandhi are striving hard to realise his dream. As a result, chief minister of Maharashtra announced 50 per cent reservation to women in the State, he informed. He was not only a political leader, but also a social revolutionary of great standing, Jaiprakash Gupta added.
Those who attended the programme included NDCC deputy chief Subhash Khode, Tanaji Wanwe, Raju Vyas, Dr Raju Deoghare and others.

Nagpur Improvement Trust: Superintending engineer, Gujjalwar lighted traditional lamp at Chhatrapati Shivaji auditorium of NIT to pay respects to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. Those who were present on this occasion included executive officer, Arvind Deshbhratar, executive engineer, Deo, Sonawane, Janbandhu, Bhupesh Meshram, Patil, assistant director (town planning), Ms Alone, Uke, publicity officer, Viju Borkar, other NIT officers and staff attended the programme.

Castribe Karmachari Mahasangh: President of Mahasangh, Krishna Ingle garlanded the portrait of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar at RBI Square. Among others who were present on this occasion included, Satyadeo Ramteke, Satish Chahande, Prof Chandrasen Gondane and others. Castribe Dairy Employees' Assocation distributed free milk on this occasion.

All India Mahatma Phule Samata Parishad : NIT trustee, Kishor Kanhere garlanded the bust of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar at RBI Square on behalf of All India Mahatma Phule Samata Parishad.
Those who attended the programme included city president of Parishad, Shyam Chaudhari, Prof S K Singh, Rajesh Mate and others.
Backward Class/ Other Backward Class Water Supply Employees/ Engineers' Union
Vinod Dhok garlanded the bust of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar following which a massive scooter rally was taken out from RBI Square upto Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran office situated at Civil Lines. At Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran office, Pradeep Wankhede, Deepak Dhote, Rajesh Hadke and other shed light on the life and mission of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. Jagdish Jadhav conducted the programme while Rameshwar Waghmare proposed a vote of thanks. Executive engineer, Zalke, SDO Shenwar and others worked hard for the success of the programme.

BJP SC/ST Cell: Maharashtra state secretary of the cell, Dharmapal Meshram garlanded the statue of Dr Ambedkar situated at RBI Square. On this occasion, slogans were raised praising Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar. Among those present on this occasion included national president of BJP SC/ST Cell Subhash Pardhi, Satish Shiraswan, Raketh Patil, Namrata Makode and others.

Republican Party of India (Athawale): Vidarbha level secretary of the party, Vikas Ganvir garlanded portrait of Dr Ambedkar at RBI Square. Those who were present at the function included, Pawan Gajbhiye, Siddhartha Taksande, Santosh Tambe, Rajan Waghmare, Kantilal Pakkhide and others.
