1st May Maharahtra Day Celebration

Maharashtra Day is celebrated on 1st May in Maharashtra state. Maharashtra state got his statehood on 1st of May, 1960. On this day Bombay state, which was the state of that time, was divided into two states on the basis of languages as Marathi and Gujarati. Maharashtra retained the old capital Bombay.
Later on the capital city Bombay was renamed into Mumbai. In Mumbai, the Maharashtra Day celebrations are held at the Shivaji Park in central Mumbai.
Mumbai is one of the most booming capital and due to which Maharashra has become important state of India. Population of Maharashtra is also very large.We wish Happy Maharashtra Day to all our brothers and sisters .
